When a search criteria filter is enabled (e.g. the selection of 2 out of 3 available events), this option allows you to discount the residual tasks of the event not selected (those with priority 0) in APS processing, which by default are otherwise included in the optimization.
The function thus prevents any “contamination” of the optimization by unnecessary and unwanted data.
