Make to Order or MTO is a production strategy that consists of producing only customers’ firm orders (pull flow configuration). In this arrangement, the company will produce a standard or only slightly customized product. This means that the company has a significant responsiveness in supply or that it has sufficient stock to start production upon receipt of the order.
With this organization, the delivery lead time will be calculated from the launch of the production until delivery to the customer.
