The Make to Stock or MTS is a production strategy that consists of establishing a stock of goods and then disposing of the stock over time. This method of organization is particularly suitable for standardized products that do not require any form of customization.
In this case, the delivery lead time will only consist of the delivery time of the finished product to the customer.
Make to Stock production is frequently associated with a system called high flow (as opposed to pull flow). This consists of producing a good before receiving the sales order and therefore investing (purchase of raw material, payment of employees, use of machinery …) without the guarantee of being able to sell product stock.
